Homemade Sugar-Free Ketchup

Adrienne at www.wholenewmom.com has a terrific homemade ketchup recipe. It's very easy to make and adapt to your tastes. Top your Green Hills hamburgers with it. This one passed the taste test in my whole family!
- Prep Time:
Ingredients
- (7 oz) Tomato paste
- (2 TBSP) Apple Cider Vinegar
- (3/4 TSP) Salt
- (3/8 TSP) Onion Powder
- (3/8 TSP) Garlic Powder
- (3/16 TSP) Allspice
- (1/16 TSP) Cayenne Pepper
- (2/3 CUP) Water
- (1/2 TBSP) Molasses (optional)
- (1 TBSP (optional)) Raw Wildflower Honey - Pint
Directions
Place all ingredients in a bowl. Stir thoroughly to blend. Place in refrigerator.
Notes: If you are using granulated onion or garlic, use 3/4 tsp of each.
You can add stevia or other sweetener if you'd like. We think it's great plain.
The original recipe called for molasses and honey but I've never added it. It's really good even without them.
I often add gelatin to thicken it. Sprinkle about 1 tsp of gelatin and stir to mix in (be careful not to create globs!). After it's refrigerated for some time, the ketchup will thicken up a little.
